Single and dual chamber pacemaker systems are used to treat cardiac arrhythmia if the heart rate is too low. Single-chamber systems are predominantly used in patients with atrial fibrillation. The differentiated selection of different two-chamber systems takes into account the individual needs of the patient, in particular with regard to physical resilience. If the so-called MRI-safe pacemaker systems are used, an examination of the patient by means of magnetic resonance tomography is also possible after implantation of the PM-system. The implantation is performed in our Hybrid Surgery to ensure optimal sterile conditions. As a rule, surgery is performed under local anesthesia.
