We treat disorders of the shoulder and elbow joints. At the outset, we consider the possibility of conservative therapy, because in many cases the consequent muscle build-up of the shoulder joint assisted by targeted physiotherapy can lead to its restoration. In severe cases or after an unsuccessful conservative therapy, the necessity of an operative treatment is discussed in consultation with the patient.
The arthroscopy makes it possible to penetrate deep into the joint with a small video camera and check existing defects. This does not require large cuts. Arthroscopic procedures are considered the so-called minimally invasive operations. Not always a small operation will promise good results. Depending on the disease picture, open surgical procedures up to the complete replacement of the shoulder joint with a prosthesis can also be applied.
